Everyday in America, and right here in our own Boone County, there are people who are either hungry or are worried about where their next meal will come from. These are adults and children, those who have jobs and those who do not. Feeding America refers to this worry and low food supply as “food insecurity.” Feeding America also says that, “Food insecurity exists in every county in America, ranging from a low of 4 percent in Slope County, ND to a high of 33 percent in Humphreys County, MS.”
Here in Boone County we are very lucky to receive the services of the Mobile Food Pantry, which will be in town next on July 9th from 4:00-6:00 pm. If you are in need or know someone who is please take a look at the flyer from the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
